Free InMails are the Direct Message that can be sent to 2nd and 3rd Level Connections without connecting to them.

The best part about Free InMails is you don't have to pay/ purchase these InMails from LinkedIn, and can also be used from your Free LinkedIn account.

Isn't that AWESOME???

What are Free InMails?

If a Linkedin member has an Open Profile turned on you can send them an InMail for free. These accounts are much easier to spot in Sales Navigator than Free/Premium accounts. Here’s how to identify them on each platform.

Sales Navigator: You’ll see a green label that says “Open.” Even though you receive a limited quantity of InMail each month, messaging Open Profiles does not count towards your InMail usage. They are free.

Free/Premium: There’s no Open Profile label, so you’ll need to do a little more work. Instead of clicking “connect” click the drop-down menu (“More” or three dots) or "Message". If you’re not connected but you see “Message” this is an open profile.

You can also identify for a LinkedIn Search, the prospect will have a Yellow LinkedIn Symbol next to their names

How to Create a Free InMail Sequence?

On the Sequence Page, click on the "Add New" button in order to create a new sequence, and in the choices select "Free InMails" as the Sequence Type to create.

Give a Title to the sequence, and select the working hours. Once that's done move to the next page.

The Next Page is about adding your Target Audience. You can either add your LinkedIn Search URL or Sales Navigator Search URL or a LinkedIn Post URL. The sequence will automatically filter the prospects/ people to whom a Free InMail can be sent.

On the Next Page write/ add the message.

Once everything is ready, click on Submit to Save the Sequence, and finally START it.
